Driver’s License Testing Requirements

Testing General Information:

Guests have a combined three attempts to pass both the knowledge and skills test. If guests have exhausted their combined three attempts, the state’s licensing fees must be repaid. Customers will be charged a convenience fee for each attempt at MVD Express regardless of completion status. All fees paid are nonrefundable and are due prior to attempting any test.  If the guest completes the written exam, they will retain a learner’s license.

Knowledge (Written) Test – General Information:

Guests may only attempt 1 Knowledge (Written) test per day.

  • Applicants under eighteen must wait 1 week before returning for another attempt.
  • Applicants over eighteen may return as early as the next business day for another attempt.

Guests under the age of eighteen must complete 50 hours of supervised driving (at least 10 hours at night) and hold a learner’s license or traffic education permit for a minimum of 6 months before becoming eligible for the Skills (Road) test.

The use of cell phones, paper, pen/pencil, manuals, notes, or speaking to nonemployees during the written test is considered cheating. If you are found to be cheating in any way, you will fail your test, and you will need to reschedule your testing at a future time.
